What is a therapy session like?
A therapy session is your time to be heard and cared for. Having someone to listen to you is an experience that we don’t normally have the option to experience. Our friends and partners do their best but almost always fall short. It’s also a place to share, find solutions and build on your skills in an open, honest, confidential and judgement free zone.
How can therapy help our relationship?
In general, relationships breakdown due to poor communication or someone breaks the unwritten rules. Therapy assists couples to communicate effectively with each other and translate the emotional language that is being misunderstood. A therapist is a guide to understanding and appreciation.
How can therapy help me as a parent?
With parents looking after the needs and wants of children and partners, who looks after the parent? That’s what a therapist can do. As a parent, you listen, support and empower your children every day. Therapy is a place where you get heard. Where you get looked after for a change. It’s a place where you can gain perspective for your challenges and gives insight into your parenting methods and how you can implement structures to further support your children and yourself.
